A solid silver teapot, with a Japanese design, the yokode. Superb generous roundness, the hammering this time took another turn, with its effect of thousands of small matte white flakes surrounded by crystalline cracks due to the hammer blows. The side handle made of red sandalwood stands out, rustic against the whiteness of the silver. The lid knob, also made of sandalwood, sits like a cherry on a cake, set in a silver flower corolla. The small spout seems to miraculously emerge from the large body of the teapot.
Japanese teapots are often distinguished by the simplicity of their designs and patterns. This one is an illustration of that: Chic, simple, authentic, and rustic. "Water is the mother of tea, the pot is the father of tea."
Sterling silver 999, we witness an ancestral know-how brought up to date, with a constant questioning of craftsmanship.
