Superb cast iron teapot whose pancake design follows all Japanese manufacturing protocols. The patterns of the 6 models presented are subtly traditional with cherished themes that bring good vibes, such as fish, plum blossom, hail, ears of wheat or bamboo. The patinated colors on the relief designs are warm, subtle. The handle is surrounded by natural hemp fiber. The technique by hand respects the ancestral Japanese know-how of sand casting, the tetsubin goes through multiple stages, it can take 2 months before its complete finish.
A teapot because it has a movable stainless steel filter, a tetsubin because of cast iron not coated with protective material, except to have been treated at high temperature in order to cause a film lining of oxide, natural protection against rust (Japanese technique).
Its pancake shape, wide and not very high, allows the spread water to boil faster and stay hot longer. The water takes on iron ions and discharges chlorine ions. "The secret of a tea ceremony begins with good water, the secret of good water begins with the pot".
Capacity of the teapot 900ml, diameter 22cm, weight 1350g.
