Bone china is made up of 50% bone ash, 25% feldspar, and 25% kaolin. After two high-temperature firings, the porcelain is fine, translucent, and its bright white is luminous. The pattern and gilding are applied in overglaze, fixed during the second firing. Note that the following variants do not have the repeated pattern on the handle.
