Yixing Ancient Barrel Clay Teapot

A teapot in ancient clay from Yixing, superbly formed, engraved "Heart Zen Sutra" in the material with delicate applications of colored clay. The warm, natural color is reminiscent of rustic, antique waxed leather or wood. The barrel shape accentuates this antique effect. 

The lustrous and aged burgundy color coordinates perfectly with the fine ocher engravings.

A little reminder, Yixing clay is called Zisha, or purple or violet clay.
