Chinese silver-gilded ceramic teapot from $61.00
Chinese teapot in beautiful silver-gilded ceramic, seaweed and fish motifs and traditional design. Superb gift to give, presented in a box like only Asians have the secret. Pottery is closely linked to money, the pattern also takes shape and lights up. With an ovoid design that we now know well, the dragon egg is presented here in 3 versions. It is a sumptuous gift while being affordable, an honorable alternative to a solid silver service. The Asian use of gifts reinforces courtesy, communication, respect and reciprocity. “The ritual is like a gift.” The traditional technique of silver gilding, an ancestral know-how, uses 99% finely ground silver, diluted in iced water, to cover the pottery, then subjected to high temperature, the silver takes shape with the ceramic. Patterns come next. Teapots and cups have the same properties as a solid silver object. That is to say germicidal and bactericidal, the tea will be softened and more flavorful. The 170ml ovoid teapots have a small capacity like many Chinese teapots, they favor tasting. 170ml for the gaiwan too. 60ml for cups. Style: Traditional/Gift/Chic Origine : Fujian
